Primary Care Physicians Needed in Townshend, Vermont

Grace Cottage Hospital, located in Townshend, Vermont is pleased to announce our search for additional Primary Care Physicians to join our staff.

We are seeking 2 PCP candidates who are interested in serving our patient population.   Our hospital serves a community of 7,000 patients and we are experiencing a shortage in primary care providers.  Our physicians see 20 patients per day and have the luxury of establishing strong provider to patient bonds.

We are a 19 bed critical access hospital and a federally designated rural health care clinic.  Our average daily census is 10.  Grace Cottage employs our physicians and will offer flexible work schedules, outpatient only positions.  We offer a guaranteed salary, loan repayment and productivity bonus system with a comprehensive benefit package.

Our facility has 24/7 ER and radiology services.  We offer a full laboratory and an in-house pharmacy.  Our consult specialists include Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, Pathology, Surgery and Urology.  Recently, we announced a partnership with the Brattleboro Retreat to offer Psychiatric services.

We are small but not remote.  We enjoy excellent secondary and tertiary hospitals including Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for first name-basis consultations and referrals.  The area has many psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric hospitals like the Brattleboro Retreat and Windham Center plus outstanding social services.

Townshend is located in Southern Vermont where New England comes to play.  We are adjacent to the ski areas of Mt. Stratton and Mt. Snow (www.stratton.com) and home to the world snow-boarding championships.  You can enjoy Townshend Lake and State Park in the summer months and the Pumpkin Festival in the Fall.

We are privileged to live in the beautiful hills and river valleys of southeastern Vermont where Green Mountain wilderness meets farmland, historic villages and thriving towns.  The hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling are fantastic.  Throughout the county there is a renaissance of artists, craftsmen, theater companies, dance groups, and musical ensembles of every tradition.  There are fierce traditions of environmental concern, community involvement, political independence, and intellectual stimulation.  Close by are numerous colleges and universities of Southern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Western Massachusetts.  For city lights, Boston is a 2 ½ hour drive and New York City is 4 hours.  We live every day where others come to vacation.  Our cost of living is 40% of the cost to live in New York or Boston.  Our children enjoy a quality education and the security of a small town atmosphere.  We would love for you to consider the same!
